Mabon squashes reach maturity at the autumnal equinox. Don't be fooled by their apparent immobility... Legend has it that these funny cucurbits are endowed with exceptional magic during the Mabon Sabbat, allowing them to move at such speed that it is impossible for the eye human to perceive their movements. So, if you have a Mabon squash, don't be surprised to feel unexplained drafts, not to find some of your belongings, to hear strange noises or to find that your frames and paintings are not straighter: these bitches take malicious pleasure in playing tricks on us throughout the autumn period.

Each gourd is a one-of-a-kind piece, entirely hand-sculpted in polymer clay and painted with acrylic paints. I take particular care in varnishing my creations, however Mabon squashes are chilly, which is why I recommend not exposing them outdoors (or for a fairly short time), nor in an environment that is too humid: they would risk falling ill and thus losing their colors. Finally, Mabon gourds are mischievous creatures, they are not intended for children.
